Liz and Pete live on a property in Kumbia, in a second-hand house that they moved to the property and renovated over about four years. Over time they developed a veggie garden, a food forest, and chicken tractors in electric fence netting. They also have a small herd of cattle (including the dairy cows). They also have beehives and produce honey and beeswax. The honey is locally produced in Kumbia from hives around Ironbark & other gum trees & wildflowers. Every batch is unique! The honey is raw & unprocessed. It will contain small amounts of pollen and beeswax – great for preventing allergies. No chemicals are used in the hives or in extracting the honey.
Liz uses the beeswax to make beeswax wraps, candles, leather dressing and chopping board polish. The beeswax is also available for your own DIY projects.
Liz also makes soap using only natural and sustainable ingredients, including locally-sourced hand-rendered beef tallow. This sustainable ingredient also makes a very hard, long-lasting bar of soap. It is great for your skin because it is very similar to the sebum in our own skin, so it makes a lovely gentle soap that does not strip or dry your skin.
The soaps contain no artificial colours, fragrances or detergents, only natural ingredients like herbs, botanicals, clays & essential oils. The soap range includes a shaving soap, shampoo bar and conditioner bar, for plastic-free alternatives. Soaps are available as full-sized bars, mini soaps for guests or travel, or you can order in bulk if you know you love handmade natural soap.
